During the first 14 days of a sick period, you have a statutory right to sick pay from the employer. For absence due to sickness that lasts longer than 14 calendar days, sick pay is paid from Försäkringskassan starting on day 15 according to the General Insurance Act.
In order for sick pay to be paid by the employer, you must submit a medical certificate from the eighth sick day. This medical certificate must show the degree of incapacity for work and the length of the illness. Sick pay is based on your salary.

Absence is also reported on the time report and settled monthly on the next month’s salary.
