Vacation

The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March. At most other companies, you need to earn your paid vacation during your first so-called qualifying year before you use it, but at Coody, regardless of when you start, we let you “borrow” 10 paid days. Of course you can supplement with unpaid days during your earning year. Your earned vacation days will be visible in Fortnox after April 1st.

Withdrawn, borrowed vacation days, is a debt to the company in the event of termination of employment but we scratch them if you remain at Coody for five years or more.

Vacation Pay

Vacation pay consists of current monthly salary + vacation allowance. The vacation allowance is currently 0.8% of the current monthly salary for each paid day off. Vacation allowance is paid retroactively after the paid time off.

Paid time off

When taking paid time off, the current year's vacation days are always used first. All employees are entitled to a continuous vacation of at least 4 weeks from June to August unless otherwise agreed. Vacation days may not be postponed until the notice period unless an agreement has been reached between the company and the employee.

Paid time off (other than vacation)

In Sweden, certain absence from work still entitles you to earn vacation days. Such days include days when you are sick, on parental leave and when caring for a sick child. If you are sick, 180 days of one calendar year are included as working days when calculating your vacation days. Further 180 days are included the same way in the two following years. 120 days of one calendar year in parental leave is also considered as working days when calculating your vacation. For single parents, 180 days are included. 120 days of caring for your sick child also are included. Parental days are paid by Försäkringskassan and must be so in order to be eligible for this benefit. Other eligible absences include 60 days of military service and 45 days of caring for a family member.

Saved vacation days

You have the right to save vacation days that exceed the number of 25 if you don’t use them during the year. You may "save" the vacation days for a maximum of 5 years. Vacations days that are not taken during the holiday year but exceed the "savings limit" are paid after the end of the vacation year.

It is your contact person who grants your vacation. In order to be completely sure that you get your vacation granted, you need to ask at least four weeks in advance.
